January – otherwise known as Veganuary! If you’re wondering what that means, well every January (since 2014!) there’s a challenge to go Vegan for those first 31 days of the year. The official Veganuary website provides all kinds of support throughout this period, and you can also find loads more online. Last year they had over half a million people sign up from 209 different countries/territories!

As the challenge has become more popular over the years, new vegan products and menus have been launched each time. Whether that’s in supermarkets, restaurants, or cafes, you’re sure to find something new to try.

For those not well versed with a meat or dairy free diet, it can feel like a big step to take all at once, but that’s why this challenge exists. It provides you with the opportunity to try something new whilst having tons of support available.

Plus, trying a vegan diet doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on your family favourites or comfort meals. There’s an alternative recipe for almost everything now, and you never know, the meat and dairy free version might even become a new favourite!

We’ve compiled a list of vegan recipes that include those everyday favourites, easy things to make and recipes that you’re likely to have the basic cupboard ingredients for already.
